The Newcastle United fans who are gathered at the bar in The Transfer Tavern this evening are discussing reports regarding the future of a couple of their squad players.
The Chronicle is reporting that the futures of both Moussa Sissoko and Georginio Wijnaldum will come down to the decision of manager Rafael Benitez.
Both players have been linked with moves away from St. James’ Park this summer following the club’s relegation to the Championship last season.
Still, the former Liverpool and Real Madrid coach has insisted he is under no pressure to sell any of last season’s squad and the decision on who stays and goes from the club this summer.
Sissoko is currently on international duty with France at Euro 2016 and has talked up his hope of a move to Arsenal over the course of the summer, while West Bromwich Albion have also been linked with the powerful midfielder.
Wijnaldum, meanwhile, enjoyed a good opening part of his maiden campaign though saw his form plummet towards the end of the season, with Everton reportedly keen on bringing him to Goodison Park.
Will Rafa Benitez return Newcastle to the top flight at the first time of asking?
