Encouragingly, it looks as if Rafa Benitez is doing everything he can to secure the signature of a striker this summer, as according to the Express & Star, Newcastle United are turning their attention back to West Bromwich Albion striker Salomon Rondon.
Interestingly, it’s understood that Newcastle are looking to lure Salomon Rondon to St James’ Park having been put off by French club OGC Nice’s £27 million asking price for Alassane Plea.
The 28-year-old is available for £16.5 million this summer thanks to a relegation release clause in his contract.
So, the Magpies may finally find themselves a natural goalscorer that can help fire them to a respectable position in the next campaign.
Indeed, it looks as if Rafa Benitez is finally looking to give fans what they want by working hard to secure the services of a striker, which could mean that Joselu finally makes his way out of the exits. The forward was West Brom’s star performer in the last campaign as he posed a constant goalscoring threat, which is something that the Magpies could definitely benefit from next season.
