Newcastle United fans are starting to worry about the possibility of relegation as their side are at risk of slipping down the table if things don’t start to improve.
The Magpies looked helpless against Arsenal at the Emirates in their last Premier League fixture as they suffered a disappointing 2-0 loss, which dampened the mood of the supporters.
Although, they have a chance to redeem themselves later on today as the Tyneside club will welcome Crystal Palace to St James’ Park in their next Premier League fixture. The Eagles have failed to ensure consistency in recent times and missed out on a famous win at Spurs’ new stadium last time out, so they’ll be desperate to put things right.
Sadly, Rafa Benitez has a big decision to make in terms of his team selection after a disappointing defensive display against the Gunners last time out. So, the Spaniard must drop this Newcastle man today…
BENCH JAMAAL LASCELLES
Jamaal Lascelles, who is valued at £13.5 million (by Transfermarkt), returned to Newcastle’s starting side against Arsenal last time out but that didn’t exactly work out for him. He reacted too slowly to Alexandre Lacazette for the first goal, and then switched off completely as the Frenchman worked a one-two with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
Of course, dropping him would be harsh after his performance in what was his return to the starting lineup, but Benitez has no room for error at this moment in time with relegation possibly looming.
