If you are a Liverpool fan, then you really may not be happy with your teams performance this season. As it happens in most of the cases, the blame game begins once a team doesn’t perform to its expectations and so is the case for Liverpool. Just 3 games into the premier league season, last year’s runners-up already have problems to sort out. According to the manager Rafael Benitez, it is make or break time for winger Ryan Babel, as the manager has options to play instead of the Holland winger.
Since manager Benitez has openly charged Babel, the player has responded strongly saying that he has always been deprived of chances from the manager. Though we have seen Babel rarely in the starting lineup, one should not put the whole blame on the manager, as the young winger really has not done justice to his capabilities. With Babel been repeatedly targeted by manager, the player has voiced his desire of moving to Ajax during the January transfer window. Such is the desire of the player that he is even ready to move out on a loan. According to the player, unless he gets enough chances to start, which seems quite difficult at Liverpool, he would never be in a good shape to play any type of football.
Apart from Babel, Albert Riera has also been on the receiving end, as the manager has made it clear they need to perform, if he is to stay in contention for a first team position. With Benitez making his point very clear to players, it is obvious that even the big guns like Steven Gerrard need to fire or else they too may soon be on the receiving end!
