The Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern have been feeling disheartened today as they read their club’s latest Twitter post, marking that six years ago today the club signed Eden Hazard from LOSC Lille. In those six years, the Belgian sensation has played 300 games scoring 89 goals and registering a further 75 assists, as he’s stamped his name among the best footballers in the world.

When you think about Chelsea football club, Eden Hazard is one of the first footballers that jumps to mind. The Blues have been inconsistent in the Premier League since Hazard’s signing winning the division twice alongside a 10th place and a 5th place finishes, although he’s also managed to win the FA Cup, League Cup and Europa League in his six seasons at Stamford Bridge.
Now though, after six successful years in London that has seen the 27-year-old win five trophies and top score for the club twice, his Chelsea career could be coming to an untimely end, with Real Madrid’s interest in the winger well documented over the last few seasons. Los Blancos could be set to sell Gareth Bale to help them fund the move for Eden Hazard as they line up a long-term heir to Cristiano Ronaldo’s throne.

Could you maybe re-sign him on THIS day?

I remember how annoyed I was at his constant tease and chess game on the identity of the club he would sign for. Glad he choose blue.
