‘Better ask Danny to hop on Google’ – Tottenham fans bemused as transfer target emerges

The Tottenham fans in the Transfer Tavern are desperate for their side to land some established players this season. They’ve had a decent campaign, especially given that they have retained Champions League football ahead of next season, but their progression has stalled somewhat.

They failed to challenge Man City at the top of the table, and so it’s important that Mauricio Pochettino looks to add more quality to his team.

That, it seems, is exactly what the Lilywhites are eager to do, with Sky Sports reporting that the club have identified a fresh transfer target. Lille midfielder Yves Bissouma is reportedly on the radar of the club – with the Malian potentially viewed as a replacement for Mousa Dembele.

He’s enjoyed a decent season in Ligue 1 this term, though his team have struggled. The central midfielder has dribbling and tackling, making him a real menace through the middle of the pitch.

Central midfield is an area that does need improving at Tottenham, but it’s fair to say that the fans over on Twitter aren’t sure that Bissouma is the man they need.

Indeed, many fans are saying the same thing – who is he? Pochettino has made a career out of turning unknown players into European mainstays, but in this case, supporters aren’t convinced.

Amusingly, one fan has even pointed towards Danny Rose’s infamous interview with The Sun, in which he told the club to sign players that he doesn’t have to Google to find out who they are. Given that Bissouma is evidently not a world-renowned name, it’s unlikely that a move for him will be very popular.

Take a look at what they’ve had to say below…
