‘Better than Iwobi and Welbeck’ – Arsenal fans praise youngster and slate Wenger’s team selection

The Arsenal fans in the Transfer Tavern can’t believe that 18-year-old Reiss Nelson doesn’t start for their club over Nigerian, Alex Iwobi, after watching a superb goal scored by Nelson for England’s U19s against Hungary yesterday. Nelson is yet to score his first senior goal for the Gunners despite netting eight times in ten appearances for Arsenal in the Premier League 2.

After watching Nelson tuck home a fantastic left-footed effort for his country, the Arsenal fans propping our bar up have been left wondering why the winger hasn’t been handed more starts at club level over Alex Iwobi. 21-year-old Iwobi has been one of a number of Arsenal players accused of underperforming this season as the club has slid to their worst Premier League campaign since the competition began.

Arsenal sit 6th in the Premier League at the moment and have almost no chance of qualifying for next season’s Champions League through their league place, as they’re a whopping 13 points off of arch-rivals Spurs in 4th. However, a saving grace for the Gunners could be the Europa League. Arsene Wenger masterminded a superb 5-1 aggregate victory over AC Milan in the round-of-sixteen of the competition to set up a quarter-final tie against CSKA Moscow. Winning the Europa League would mean automatic entry to the Champions League group stages and Arsenal fans will be hoping Reiss Nelson can help the club achieve that.
