Bid accepted as Liverpool close in on £13m deal

One topic that has caused much debate here in the Football Transfer Taven over this window, is the future of Liverpool and Wales midfielder, Joe Allen.

BBC Sport have confirmed that the Reds have accepted a bid of £13m for Joe Allen from fellow Premier League side, Stoke City.

The Welsh international’s future has been up in the air all summer with Jurgen Klopp said to be weighing up whether on not to keep him on.

The 26-year-old has been linked with a host of Premier League clubs, with Southampton, Swansea, Leicester and Man United all rumoured to have considered a move for the ‘Welsh Xavi’.

The midfielder was an integral part of Wales historic run at this summer’s European Championships, helping his nation reach the semi-finals, for the first time in their history.
