Liverpool fans here in the Tavern are praying that their side can push through a shock signing in the next few days, as Philippe Coutinho’s sale is yet to have found its replacement.
Jurgen Klopp’s side required a major makeover on the defensive front this window, and the world record defensive signing of Virgil Van Dijk went a long way to aiding the plans of the German. And, there looks to be even more movements on the defensive side of things, although this won’t be the type of news that many Reds fans were hoping for. As according to reports in the Scottish Sun, Liverpool are closing in on the £200,000 signing of Falkirk defender Tony Gallacher.
The full-back’s current club Falkirk are believed to have accepted the six-figure bid from the Merseyside outfit, as a second Scottish defender looks to be joining Klopp’s legacy.
In a season that’s been filled full of shocks and turns for the Liverpool side they now look to have found their next, as the 18-year-old defender managed to secure the possibility of a permanent move to Anfield after spending a week training with the Reds. However, the young Scottish star will start out in their development squad, and after being scouted by Manchester United in recent years they look to have got one up on their bitter rivals.
Not necessarily a defender that fans will be too excited about with the hopes it was a player at a current standard that could fit right into the first-team, but still a move that could be hugely beneficial to the future of the club after seeing the rise of Kieran Tierney in Scotland.
