Bid made: Liverpool steal march on Manchester United target

BigliaLiverpool fans are getting giddy with excitement in the Transfer Tavern after hearing that they’ve stolen a march on Manchester United in the race for a talented Serie A midfielder.

Italian publication Gazzetta World state that Liverpool have made an enticing offer to lure Lucas Biglia to the Premier League from Lazio, with manager Jurgen Klopp being a huge fan of the player and tracking him during his days at Borussia Dortmund.

The battle for Biglia’s signature has heated up significantly in the past week, with Manchester United and Real Madrid both tracking the in-form Argentine international.

Biglia, who was given the captain’s armband for Lazio over the summer, is happy with his current position within the Italian side’s squad and the South American is only likely to accept a move if he is assured of regular first-team football.

That seems more plausible at Anfield under Jurgen Klopp, who is looking to make his first waves in the transfer market as a Reds boss in January as he brings in player’s capable of fitting his philosophy for the club.

Real Madrid and Manchester United do have the benefit of being able to offer regular Champions League football but Liverpool are on-course for a top-four finish this term.
