The Newcastle fans in the Transfer Tavern were hoping that Rafael Benitez would get an early start on a few January deals. The Magpies are struggling in the Premier League, and some big changes are needed at St James’ Park if they are to secure safety in the English top flight.
That process has already begun, it seems, much the delight of our resident Newcastle faithful, with the Daily Mail reporting that a deal to bring Kenedy to Newcastle on loan is likely to be finalised in January.
Kenedy has been a fringe player at Chelsea this season, with Carabao Cup appearances his only real saving grace, and so he’ll no doubt be keen to leave Stamford Bridge on a temporary basis to prove his worth.
His arrival would also solve a rather significant lack of depth down the left-hand side of the Newcastle team, and given his versatility, he’d certainly be a good fit.
Newcastle fans haven’t had much to smile about this term, but this deal has certainly got fans over on Twitter talking, and it’s fair to say that most fans are pretty pleased with the reports.

Imperative that #NUFC get early Jan deals done, as most of our remaining winnable games come next month. Kenedy is the first.
