The Tottenham fans in the Transfer Tavern think that Danny Rose's departure from North London is long overdue.

After all, it's fair to say that the Englishman's prominence at Spurs has fallen over the last year or two. He was a regular starter at White Hart Lane, but very quickly that changed. A lack of form, fitness, and off the field incidents - notably things that he has said about the club - have all contributed to his reduced importance under Mauricio Pochettino

Furthermore, the emergence of Ben Davies, has changed things considerably. The Welshman has gone from a rotational option to one of Mauricio Pochettino's most trusted players, and that has led Rose, who is rated at £27 million by Transfer Markt, down an uncertain path. In addition to the aforementioned issues, the simple fact is that Davies has grown exponentially as a player, and Rose has had little choice but to watch on as his rival at left-back has continued to develop into the player that he is today.

That's without considering the fact that Rose's quality does indicate that he's good enough to play for a club that is more competitive when it comes to winning trophies. It's hard to dispute the notion that Tottenham aren't where they should be right now. They are struggling to convert form into trophies, and before too long, that's going to cost them players. Danny Rose isn't alone in this, given that the likes of Dele Alli, Harry Kane and Christian Eriksen are just some of the players who could be turning out for Europe's best teams.

Rose, without a doubt, is good enough to play for the Man Utd's and Chelsea's of the world, and so perhaps it's time for him to move on. Better late than never.
