Big personnel changes could be coming at Arsenal this summer – report

The Arsenal fans in the Transfer Tavern are expecting a lot more business to be had at the Emirates this summer…

Last season was one to forget for the Gunners, and it proved that they are some way behind the rest of the leading pack in the Premier League. Clearly, then, in order to compete again next season, Arsenal’s playing squad needs improvement, though it doesn’t appear as though that will come solely in the form of incomings.

According to the Daily Mail, Arsenal are set to offload a host of players this summer as Wenger looks to freshen up his team, with up to 8 players potentially leaving the club. The likes of Kieran Gibbs, Carl Jenkinson and Lucas Perez all feature on the list alongside a host of other fringe players – with Wenger likely to take charge of a very different team next season.

For the most part, Arsenal’s first team is very strong – with key players like Mesut Ozil, Granit Xhaka and Shkodran Mustafi amongst some of Europe’s most talented players. However, beyond that, their depth is very limited – with most of the fringes of their squad simply not good enough to compete at the highest level.

This is clearly something that Arsene Wenger wants to change this summer, and if as many as 8 players leave, the Frenchman would likely have no shortage of funds to reinvest.

The Arsenal fans in the Transfer Tavern are feeling rather excited.
