Big personnel changes could be coming at Arsenal this summer

The Arsenal fans in the Transfer Tavern want some big changes off the field at the Emirates this summer, but they could get them on the field instead…

According to the Daily Star, Arsene Wenger could be given a transfer fund of up to £200 million this summer if he stays at the club, paving the way for a summer of spending at the Emirates. That isn’t all, though, with the publication also noting that as many as 7 players could leave – with a list of players including Gibbs, Wilshere and Ospina all likely to be made available, whilst Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain could also look to leave.

Certainly, many in the pub have been hoping for Arsene Wenger to leave for much of the season, though it is looking increasingly likely that he will remain at the club. It seems as though he is already preparing for a summer of spending and selling at the Emirates.

A strong end to the season, culminating in an FA Cup victory, has certainly given Wenger a bit more credibility – with a few of the fans in the Transfer Tavern now, begrudgingly, starting to come round to the idea of him remaining at the club for another season at least. He has done a stellar job during his tenure let us not forget, and perhaps a few big changes could see his side’s form turnaround for good next season.

Our landlord thinks that £200 million might not be enough to get the ball rolling at Arsenal. For him, the Gunners desperately need a few new defenders, whilst a new top class forward is also necessary, and given the rising cost of Europe’s finest players, Wenger could need to seek funds from elsewhere. This, perhaps, is where the transfer listing of so many players could come in.
