A few mutterings in the corner of the Football Transfer Tavern, surround a possible January bid from West Ham for Ajax winger Miralem Sulejmani.
Richard Sharpe of the Daily Mail, reckons ‘Big Sam’ is set to go back for the player he came so close to signing in the summer, and is set to make a January bid for the 23-year-old, although it is understood he faces competition from Valencia and Bayern Leverkusen.
The Serbian international joined the club in a £13.8million deal from Heerenveen back in 2008, but his career has stalled somewhat in the Dutch capital.
Allardyce, who has a history of reviving players careers, thinks he could be the perfect fit for the Hammers.
Having fallen down the pecking order in Amsterdam, Sulejmani is hoping for a January move, and said earlier this week:
‘I must now focus on games in the reserves. I have to get game time in order to be fully fit during the winter, when I will get a chance to leave.’
Should we join in on Sharpe’s conversation or are we tempted to get an early cab home? Vote in our polls below.
