The Man Utd fans in the Transfer Tavern are relieved about this…
Marcus Rashford has been drawing the attention of everyone in the Tavern since he burst onto the scene a couple of years ago, and whilst he has stuttered somewhat under Jose Mourinho – hopes are still high for the youngster.
It came as a surprise, then, when the Telegraph reported that West Ham boss Slaven Bilic was plotting a surprise loan move for the youngster, with the Hammers looking to improve their disappointing league form in the second half of the season.
Now, following the reports, Bilic himself has come out to deny the rumours – and revealed that there is no chance that West Ham would be able to land the talented Englishman.
He said: “No way…Rashford is very valuable for Manchester United. There’s no way. There’s no way to get him”.
Bilic is not wrong, either, with Rashford still playing a role despite losing headway in the Man Utd first team under Jose Mourinho. The English forward has scored 3 goals in just 8 Premier League starts, many of which were made from the wing, rather than his more natural starting berth as a number 9.
The news has, unsurprisingly, come as a blow to the West Ham fans in the Transfer Tavern, many of whom thought there was a genuine chance that the striker could move to London, at least on a temporary deal.
Our landlord thinks that Bilic is going to have to look elsewhere…
