Arsenal fans in the Transfer Tavern have been handed a bitter blow today, after hearing that one of their targets will not be sold in the transfer market.
ESPN quote Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane as ruling-out an exit for Spanish midfielder Isco, who saw his role reduced this season under Rafael Benitez and has struggled to become a regular starter under Zidane.
However, Isco stated his desire to stay at the Santiago Bernabeu after last weekend’s victory over Atletico Madrid in the Champions League final and Zidane seems to have similar plans for the Spaniard.
“Isco is a Real Madrid player and he is not leaving. We have just finished the season and haven’t had time to talk about the market or any players who may be of interest to Juventus.”
The Spanish midfielder has emerged as a top-target for Arsenal this summer, who see the player as the ideal successor to an ageing Santi Cazorla, but our landlord believes this move would have always been too difficult to complete.
