According to The Express, Juan Cuadrado is closing in on a new deal at his current club Fiorentina despite heavy interest from the Premier League heavyweights.
It was expected for both the Red Devils and the Blues to reignite their interest for the Colombian international winger in January with a £32 million offer mentioned.
Such attention was initially sparked in the summer after his incredibly impressive performance at the World Cup but bids from the English duo never materialised.
After the comments made by Fiorentina’s club manager Vincenzo Guerini, both clubs will look elsewhere in January as Cuadrado is apparently ‘details’ away from signing a new deal.
“Cuadrado’s attitude has been exemplary during this process,” Guerini said.
“There are [just a few] details [on the new deal]. Both the club and player have expressed a willingness to continue together.
“It’s only fair that he wants to win things. Until two years ago, nobody wanted to join Fiorentina, now the situation has reversed. The club know what to do.”
