Blow not as bad as first feared as Man Utd remain optimistic about key man’s return

The Man Utd fans in the Transfer Tavern are feeling pretty good at the moment…

The Red Devils have made a stellar start to the Premier League season, whilst a dominant Champions League display against Basel has left them in a good place in Europe, too.

In truth, things couldn’t be going any better, and so news that they could get a massive boost in November has come as music to the ears of those in the pub.

According to the Independent, Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s recovery is well beyond the expected course – with a November return date now a genuine possibility. It is noted that whilst there were fears over whether he would ever return initially, he is well ahead of schedule and could make a return this side of the new year.

His return would, of course, be massive news for Man Utd, with his fine form last term proving vital to their success. He scored frequently for the Red Devils, despite missing the last portion of the campaign, and given that it was his first season in England – that was a remarkable feat.

Whilst Romelu Lukaku has been signed to replace him, the Swede is likely to still feature regularly, though this role he will take on could be very different given how much the Man Utd first team has changed.

One thing is certain, though; Mourinho will be desperate to get him back.

Landlord’s Verdict

Given how many competitions Man Utd are in this season, a big squad will be needed.

Ibrahimovic offers some real quality going forward, and though a┬ábit-part role is likely to follow, he’ll undoubtedly make an impact when called upon.

A duo of Lukaku and Ibra could be deadly.
