This is after Metro became the latest outlet to report that the Blues are still keen on bringing Didier Drogba back to Stamford Bridge.
The 36-year-old Blues legend is currently a free agent having left Galatasaray- but a very wanted one at that.
Jose Mourinho will have to fend off a fair few sides should he wish to reunite with the Ivorian who, when Mourinho left Chelsea, likened it to losing a member of his family and sobbed inconsolably.
It is fairly clear that Drogba would be a major dressing room supporter of Mourinho, but we still have reservations over if he really could cut it at the top level anymore – well bar against Arsenal that is!
The Blues are considering a player-coach offer for the former Marseille forward and want to bring him back to the club primarily for the coaching aspect, but will include him as a player too in order to bolster their striking options.
Chelsea fans. Can you already imagine going to the Bridge to welcome Drogba home and cheer his first goal or is he simply too old and sentiment irrelevant in modern-day football? Let us know your thoughts below.
