Our resident Bolton Wanderers fans enjoying a pint here in the Transfer Tavern are somewhat gutted, after Swansea City boss Garry Monk has today, as reported by BBC Sport, confirmed that Marvin Emnes’ loan move to Bolton is off.
Emnes has really struggled to make an impact at the Welsh club since his move from Middlesborough last summer.
He has made only one appearance for the club – that coming in the Capital One Cup and is yet to feature in the Premier League.
After the Welsh club’s elimination from the League Cup his chances of playing first team football for the Premier League side look very small.
With some of our Swansea fans here in the Taverm exclaiming they are glad to being close to seeing the back of him as they sank another pint in misery, as they went down 1-0 to Championship side Hull City
Bolton were looking for some emergency fire after a run of games that has left them dangerously hovering above the relegation zone in 21st, just one point above Preston in 22nd.
The deal to take Emnes to the Macron Stadium was extremely close to being completed but the 27-year-old pulled the plug on the move at the last moment, with reports claiming the player’s change of heart was sparked by a financial disagreement with his representatives.
Swansea fans. Are you glad to see Emnes close to the exit door? Let us know your thoughts and opinions in the comments below!
