There is good news here in the Football Transfer Tavern for a Premier League duo after talkSPORT revealed that Liverpool and West Ham United are the clubs currently in the hunt for Wilfried Bony who plies his trade for Vitesse Arnhem.
Not only are Liverpool currently trying to keep hold of Luis Suarez and finish as high up the table as they possibly can but they also want to sign new players who signal that the club do remain ambitious and can help them reach their goal of securing Champions League football sooner rather than later.
West Ham under Sam Allardyce are constantly on the lookout for top class players who can net them goals and the Hammers boss feels that Bony could well be the man to do that. After the Russian transfer window closed on Tuesday night with no offers having been made for the player, Vitesse interim director Erwin Kasakowski claimed that he would remain in the Netherlands until at least the end of the season. He noted that: “No club in Russia came to us with an offer, so Wilfried will finish the season at Vitesse.”
Not only does this mean that clubs are free to admire the player for the remainder of the season but they can also look to him in the summer and potentially revisit their interest in him then.
