There are a host of Premier League clubs that would be interested to hear the latest claim from Metro but it is our Arsenal punters in the Football Transfer Tavern who have heard the news first.
Of course, as we have spoken about many times in the tavern, Chelsea and Arsenal are but two of the clubs keen on landing Schalke’s Julian Draxler and it seems that they could well be about to be handed a boost in their chase.
Draxler is currently playing his trade in his native Germany and is making rather a large name for himself.
As one of our punters notes, after the Champions League group stages, we have all sat up and taken notice of the young star and it seems that some of Europe’s elite have followed that example to a tee.
Horst Heldt is the Schalke general manager and as our punters note rather drily, he should know what is going on at his club.
According to Heldt, the youngster’s prospects of remaining in the Bundesliga are not bright as he noted that Draxler has some rather major decisions to be making in the future.
“We continue to hope that Julian remains,” he told German newspaper Bild. “But there are factors that we can not influence.”
Are these factors something to do with Arsenal readying a January bid? Let us know your thoughts below.
