Manchester City fans cannot wait to hear the claim coming from Manchester Evening News who seem to think that Alvaro Negredo will not be pushing for a move away from the Etihad Stadium this summer.
The Spanish forward nicknamed ‘The Beast’ had been linked with a move away and despite a great start to life at the club, he struggled towards the end of the campaign and was overshadowed by Edin Dzeko and Sergio Aguero with Stevan Jovetic even getting a look in.
Despite rumours to the contrary, the ex-Sevilla forward claimed: “I don’t want to leave City. I’m very happy and very settled here.
“I had a difficult end to the season and that’s why there has been a lot of talking but I’ve been very happy here from the first day I arrived.”
As one of our punters notes, the main issue for the forward has seemingly been missing people and loved ones back home, not the culture change or anything that City have done with him – unlike Yaya Toure.
He further alluded to this, noting: “Maybe a bit more on the personal side than when we talk about football but I don’t cry easily.
“I am sensible but I have to love that person a lot to be homesick.”
We think that Negredo will be here come the start of next season and could well add to his already impressive haul of trophies come the end of his time in England.
Whilst he may not stay here after his contract has ended, he still has a huge role to play for Manuel Pellegrini and his men yet.
