Boost for Mourinho: Great news for Man Utd ahead of crunch Sevilla clash

The Man Utd fans in the Transfer Tavern are looking forward to the return of the Champions League this week. It was a cagey affair in the first leg against Spanish side Sevilla, but confidence is at an all-time high at Old Trafford.

They’re, of course, coming off the back of a fantastic few weeks – having beaten the likes of Chelsea, Crystal Palace and Liverpool in over the last few games.

Fortunately, ahead of the fixture with Sevilla, even more good news has come the way of Jose Mourinho. The Portuguese has confirmed ahead of the game that attacker Anthony Martial is fit and ready to feature on Tuesday.

The Frenchman has been a crucial part of Mourinho’s plans this season, having made 26 appearances in the Premier League so far.

He missed the Red Devils’ clash with Crystal Palace last Monday, before also being absent for Man Utd’s win against Liverpool over the weekend.

He has picked up 9 goals and 5 assists in the Premier League this term, whilst he’s picked up a further 2 assists and 1 goal in Europe. His importance, then, is clear – and so this is a huge boost for the Red Devils.

Landlord’s Verdict

Man Utd are blessed with a lot of attacking depth, but the stuttering form of Alexis Sanchez means that Martial’s return is very important.

They’ll need to score against the Spanish side to pick up a win, given that the first leg finished as a 0-0 draw – and Martial has been very effective at that this term.

This is just what they needed.
