Boost for Mourinho: Man Utd must take advantage of development and land £27m-rated ace

The Man Ud fans in the Transfer Tavern are desperate for their side to land a new left-back this summer. Given that Luke Shaw is clearly not valued highly by Jose Mourinho, and the fact that Ashley Young is 32-years-old, the Red Devils need to plan long-term at the back, and at present, they’re short of options.

A recent transfer development at Tottenham, then, should get Ed Woodward’s ears pricked firmly up in the air.

According to the Mirror, Spurs are ready to let a few players leave this summer, and are reportedly ready to listen to offers for Danny Rose.

Rose, you could argue, is the perfect option for Man Utd.

At a glance, Rose – who is rated at £27 million by Transfer Markt – is a proven Premier League left-back with bags of experience behind him. He was a star for Spurs prior to his injury and the emergence of Ben Davies, and there is no doubting that when he’s on form, there is arguably nobody better in the Premier League.

Possessing incredible pace, fantastic crossing and a decent knack of getting into the right position going forward and at the back, the Englishman doesn’t really have any shortcomings. He’s solid defensively, but his main qualities come going forward, and that will appeal to Mourinho – especially with a big number 9 in the form of Romelu Lukaku to aim for.

Other factors, like his homegrown status, will appeal to Man Utd – whilst the fact that he is just 27-years-old indicates that Mourinho would have a solution for 4 or 5 years at the very least.

Rose won’t be cheap, but for the right price he’s clearly available, and that is hugely exciting for them – and so they must act.
