Boro and Palace eye powerful attacker in bid to pull away from drop-zone

Our Middlesbrough and Crystal Palace fans here in the Transfer Tavern are eyeing one another up at the moment and it’s not just because of the relegation battle this season.

Whilst both teams are indeed trying to stave off the drop into the Championship this year they also look set to go head to head for Rudy Gestede as per The Telegraph.

The Aston Villa striker is known for his powerful displays up top and apparently both Premier League sides are keen to add him to their ranks in January as we push towards the second half of the season.

Gestede has been in and out of the team for Villa this season since their own relegation from last year and has largely seen the likes of Jonathan Kodjia play in front of him under Steve Bruce.

He has four goals and an assist to his name this season and our landlord thinks that if he were to sign for either of the Premier League sides he would need to up that output slightly to have a good impact.

Would you take Gestede, Boro or Palace fans? Let us know below!
