Borussia Dortmund boss rules-out defender’s Liverpool switch

SuboticLiverpool fans in the Transfer Tavern playing a round of cards in the corner will feel they’ve been given a poor hand by the latest news filtering in from the continent.

The Daily Express state that Borussia Dortmund have ruled-out an exit for defender Neven Subotic this month, who had been linked with a loan to Liverpool.

Liverpool are in the market for defensive additions this month have seen their ranks decimated by injuries, with Jurgen Klopp looking for the right names to get the Reds back in the hunt for a Champions League spot.

The former Dortmund boss was ready to raid his former club but his predecessor Thomas Tuchel ruled-out an exit for a veteran he feels is of immense value to his side.

“To Subotic, I can say that we need him as an integral part of the team. If it remains solely my decision, there is not the slightest reason for a change.”

These quotes haven’t gone down well with our Liverpool punters, who believe Subotic would be much better off at Anfield. Our landlord disagrees however, stating the veteran would be better off in German football.
