There seems to be a number of depressed looking Manchester United supporters in the Football Transfer Tavern this evening.
Still downing their sorrows after watching the 3-1 defeat at Stamford Bridge, their negative mood has been slightly improved by the latest transfer reports coming from today’s Manchester Evening News.
The local newspaper suggests that Roma midfielder Miralem Pjanic has opened up surrounding the possibility of a move to Old Trafford after admitting that he is ‘flattered’ with interest from the reigning Premier League champions.
The 23-year-old is reportedly on the radar of David Moyes as he seeks to improve his midfield following his team’s struggles this term and we have to say that Pjanic would be an excellent addition to the Red Devils.
However United are likely to face competition from Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint-Germain, who are also keeping tabs on the highly impressive Bosnia and Herzegovina international.
When asked if he was open to a possible transfer to either PSG or Man United, Pjanic said: “It’s flattering and I am sure glad to hear that.
“I have become a supporter of Roma and should there be a transfer it will require that the three parties agree.”
It appears that a January deal would be out of the question after Roma let Michael Bradley leave for the MLS, but a summer transfer to Manchester could be on the cards which has brought some life out of the United punters at the bar.
