Boss confident of landing Chelsea boss within 10 days

ConteChelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern are gearing up for a new era, which they’ve brought in with waves of optimism whilst they work their way through the champagne we have on offer at the bar.

The Guardian states Chelsea have held positive talks with Italy boss Antonio Conte, who is in line to take charge of the west London outfit following this summer’s European Championships in France.

Conte previously led Juventus to three Serie A titles, winning a further five during his playing career, and has been in the Italy position since the 2014 World Cup. However, following this summer’s tournament, he’s keen to return to club management.

The Italian boss is now favourite to succeed Guus Hiddink, who’s temporary role expires in the summer, and Conte is confident an offer will be tabled to him within the next ten days.

Chelsea’s season this term has been rather uninspiring, with the Blues looking set to miss out on Champions League football next term, but they’re in the quarter-finals of the FA Cup and have a chance to progress into the same stage in Europe.

Our landlord feels Conte has a lot of work to do at Stamford Bridge and he feels the quicker he is appointed, the easier it will be for Chelsea to adjust.
