Both Roberto Mancini and Sir Alex Ferguson are reportedly eyeing up some young additions to their respective squads as both clubs look to mount an assault on Chelsea at the Premier League summit.
The 19 year old Israeli is currently a free agent and can play just about anywhere in midfield. He was a mainstay in the Barcelona B-team, with Barcelona’s rivals Real Madrid also alleged to be interested as his contract expiration loomed closer over the spring. Assulin is Israel’s youngest ever full international and played against Manchester City, Tottenham and Egyptian giants Al-Ahly in the Barcelona first team’s 2009/10 pre-season.
Relatively obscure, but certainly worth a mention after emerging as a possible target of Roberto Mancini. The Canadian striker currently plies his trade for League Two Lincoln City, with a modest CV including the likes Yeovil, Weymouth, Havant and Waterlooville, Sutton United, and Hereford. This begs the question of why Mancini would want anything to do with McAllum, but the only feasible answer is for a loan or free transfer and a spell in the reserves. Watch this space…
Manchester United will apparently be duking it out with Barcelona for the signature of 15 year old Brazilian footballing prodigy Andrigo. Although many players are unfortunately tarred with the tag of ‘the next Pele’, United’s scouts were relatively impressed after watching Andrigo in a youth tournament. Unfortunately, Barcelona’s scouts were also there, and have allegedly offered the youngster a trial before United could get a word in edgeways. Expect either a long drawn out battle or never hearing of him again – there is no gray area with this one.
