The Tottenham Hotspur fans in the Transfer Tavern can sleep easy at night knowing that their club has finally secured Champions League football, despite the player’s best attempts to throw it away. Chelsea’s 1-1 home draw with Huddersfield and Spurs 1-0 win over Newcastle confirmed that Mauricio Pochettino’s side would again have a seat at Europe’s top table and now the fans have been laughing at Conte’s comments (sourced from Sky Sports) that Chelsea need to “put the pressure on.”
At least you put the pressure on, @ChelseaFC.

After this season’s escapades in the Champions League, the fans will be expecting big things next season. The club was into the ‘group of death’ in the competition, consisting of themselves, Real Madrid, Borussia Dortmund and APOEL. Despite the stiff competition, Poch’s men outdid themselves, winning five of their six games and drawing the other one as they cantered towards the knockout stages. It wasn’t to be though as the experienced Juventus overcame Spurs 4-3 on aggregate.
Now that Champions League football is guaranteed, the Spurs fans have turned their attention to Antonio Conte. The Italian claimed before his side’s clash with Huddersfield that his side needs to put on the pressure in the race for the top-four. In recent years, Spurs have come under criticism from fans of other clubs for failing to win trophies and only managing to put pressure on the League leaders, making the fact Conte has used the same phrase for his own side feel even sweeter as Spurs benefit at Chelsea’s expense.
