Bournemouth look to have secured their Premier League place for another year after what has been another season of progress at the Vitality under manager Eddie Howe.
The Cherries have built and steadied the ship since winning promotion to the top flight, and Howe deserves plenty of credit, something our punters here in the Tavern are quick to point out.
Chelsea on the other hand, have failed to successfully defend their Premier League crown this term under Antonio Conte, and there is set to be a summer of rebuilding once again at the Bridge if the club are to challenge runaway leaders Man City.
Our landlord though thinks some business could be done between the two clubs in the summer, and one player who he thinks should be on Conte’s radar is new England call-up Lewis Cook.
The former Leeds midfielder has been a revelation for the Cherries, cementing his place in the first team and becoming one of the top performers for Eddie Howe.
Still a young man, Cook has plenty of time to develop and earn a move to one of the big boys in the Premier League, but it might be that Chelsea want to strike while the iron is hot, and get Cook this summer before his value potentially increases further.
A well balanced, classy young midfielder, Cook has all the hallmarks of being a top player in world football, and could well be the sort of signing that Blues fans want their club to make.
Chelsea fans, what do you think? Good signing? Let us know in the comments!
