Now that his serious injuries are behind him, Callum Wilson is developing into that goalscoring Premier League No.9 Eddie Howe had hoped he would become.
That, however, has not come without its consequences for the Cherries boss with a number of outfits in English football’s top flight now said to be interested in the 27-year-old.
The Sun reports that as well as Chelsea, who were keen on him back in November, the likes of Everton and West Ham have now entered the fray.
Wilson, though, should think twice before pushing for a move to either outfit with a transfer to Goodison Park or the London Stadium hardly being a step up.
The last few seasons, Bournemouth, Everton and West Ham have finished the campaign with a similar amount of points, a theme that is set to repeat itself this term.
In short, in this moment of time, the Premier League trio are all basically around the same level.
Everton and West Ham, of course, have big projects underway and could still easily make the Europa League at the end of this season and future ones.
But given Chelsea’s interest, if Wilson remains at the Vitality Stadium a little longer and develops into an even better striker, then it could be the Champions League instead of the Europa League for the England international.
Just getting back to his best, there is no reason for Wilson to rush into making a hasty decision this summer.
