AFC Bournemouth fans in the Football Transfer Tavern haven’t had too much to cheer about this transfer window, with key men Matt Ritchie and Tommy Elphick, both long term members of the club, being transferred away from the Vitality so far.
But the Telegraph is reporting today that the South Coast side will oversee a medical for Leeds United starlet, Lewis Cook, who thought to be joining the Cherries in a deal worth £6m.
The 19-year-old has been a long term target of Eddie Howe’s, but Leeds have decided the money raised will be used as funds for new additions to Garry Monk’s side.
The midfielder has been with Leeds since the age of seven and made his first-team debut in 2014, aged 17, going on to make 80 appearances for the first team, scoring twice.
The England U19 player will be the Cherries’ fourth signing in this years window after the arrivals of Lys Mousset, Nathan Ake and Emerson Hyndman.
Cherries fans, we want to hear from you! What would you make of the addition of Lewis Cook? Have you seen much of him at Leeds? Let us know in the comments below…
