Bournemouth should definitely consider moving for £9m-rated Middlesbrough star

The Bournemouth fans in and around the Transfer Tavern have enjoyed another successful season in the Premier League with their hero Eddie Howe knowing just what to do to keep them in the top flight.

The Cherries are a good footballing side and also now the ultimate comeback team, earning more points from losing positions than anyone else in the division. Although they get by on a small budget, Bournemouth have some very capable footballers that make them a very attractive side to watch.

They don’t need any big name players in their ranks but to continue their growth, our punters think Championship centre-back Ben Gibson would be a perfect addition for them, with his valuation at just £9.00 million on Transfermarkt. The 25-year-old has continued to be Middlesborough’s rock in the heart of the defence, having played in every single Championship game this season. Having been subject to speculation over a Premier League move last summer following his standout season, that never happened but since Gibson has proven to remain a strong asset.

Bournemouth remain a family club and a likeable club but that addition of Ben Gibson would give them more of an element of seriousness, that they want to continue to rise in the Premier League. Their defence certainly hasn’t been bad but Gibson, despite being in the division below would be considered a step up in class.

Landlord’s verdict:

Ben Gibson is still a young centre-back and has the ability to offer a lot to a team like Bournemouth. The Cherries will be planning another successful season and Ben Gibson would be a key signing to enjoy that vision.
