Everton will be desperate to secure all three points against Tottenham Hotspur at Goodison Park tomorrow, with the opportunity to take another step towards securing a European spot.
The Toffees have struggled to ensure consistency in recent times under Marco Silva, so the January transfer window has come at the perfect time. Although, Marcel Brands has stated that he will only sign a reported target on one condition, as according to Sports Mole, Brands would only consider move for Lozano if he cost £18 million.
Indeed, Marcel Brands has ruled out the possibility of the Toffees making a big-money bid for PSV Eindhoven winger Hirving Lozano.
Interestingly, the Mexican international has produced 14 goals and eight assists in the current campaign as one of the hottest topics in world football.
But, after spending a large amount of money on Richarlison back in the summer transfer window, Brands has shared his opinion on a possible move for Lozano:
“For Richarlison we have indeed paid a lot of money, but he is 21 years old and has already shown it in the Premier League. He is likely to deliver double. I do not know yet with Lozano. If Lozano would cost €20m [£18m], I would consider it, but at higher amounts we look at players who have already proven it in the Premier League or in another big league.”
Hirving Lozano is arguably one of the best attackers in world football, so it comes as some surprise that Brands isn’t willing to splash the cash on him.
So, it looks as if Brands will only launch a move for the Mexican on one condition, if the fee is to be £18 million, which looks extremely unlikely as a team like Manchester United would undoubtedly pay a lot more.
