Punters in the Football Transfer Tavern have realised that recently crowned Premier League champions Manchester United don’t get everything their own way after hearing the news that Brazilian defender Marquinhos is set to commit his future to Roma shunning interest from the Red Devils – well according to talkSPORT that is.
The young star has been eyed by not only Catalan Giants Barcelona of late but also by the now 20 times league Champions Manchester United with the club keen on luring the 18-year-old to England. The player however has claimed he is happy in the Italian capital and is keen to repay the faith that Roma have shown in him thus far.
He told Sky Italia that he is keen to see out the contract he signed when moving last summer which runs until 2017 noting that: “I’m a Roma player, I have a contract and I’m very happy to be here.
“I made the choice to come here together with my family and my agent, and I am happy with the decision. I have another four years on my contract.
“I was badly misinterpreted by comments [earlier this week]. I only wanted to say that I am thinking just of training and playing because everything else is taken care of by my agent and the club.”
