Brazilian signs new Chelsea deal to stay until 2019

OscarChelsea fans here in the Football Transfer Tavern are looking up with huge smiles on their faces at the latest news coming from the Guardian, who report that the Blues have secured one of their best players on a new, long term deal.

Playmaker Oscar has just penned a new deal to stay with the west London club until 2019 and that of course represents a huge coup for the Blues and a boost as they go into the international break eight points clear of Manchester City after another victory over Liverpool at Anfield.

The playmaker spoke to Chelsea’s official website and  claimed:“I am so happy because I love playing for Chelsea and living in England,

“I have enjoyed playing here for two years, and now I have five more, so I am very happy.”

This is of course fantastic news for both Chelsea fans and their boss Jose Mourinho, who keeps repeating that the project at the Blues is a long term one and with the crop of young and talented stars that they have only just getting to the peak of their powers, anything is possible, and he will want Oscar to be a huge part of that.

Chelsea fans. Is this a massive coup for you? How important has Oscar become to Mourinho’s blueprint? Let us know your thoughts below.
