The Tottenham fans in the Transfer Tavern were delighted with their sides victory over Borussia Dortmund last night in the Champions League.
Mauricio Pochettino’s side put their disappointing North-London derby result behind them yesterday evening and produced a second-half fightback to record a 2-1 victory at the Signal Iduna Park. The 3 points has guaranteed Tottenham a first placed finish in Group H with a home match against APOEL Nicosia still to play in a fortnights time.
Dortmund took a first-half lead through Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang after a gorgeous backheel from Andrey Yarmolenko put him one on one with Hugo Lloris. Tottenham equalised soon after the break courtesy of a snap-shot from Harry Kane just inside the 18-yard box, before Song Heung-min completed the turnaround with a curled effort that flew into the top-corner.
The evening fixture provided Danny Rose with another fitness boost in his return from injury, as he completed his first 90 minutes of football in the Champions League this season.
The majority of Tottenham fans on Twitter were delighted to see Rose make another step closer to full recovery and were generally impressed by his impact on the game.
However, his recovery from injury remains overshadowed by uncertainty regarding his future at the club.
Speculation linking Rose to Manchester United has intensified this morning after his admission that he was ‘fuming’ to be left out of Pochettino’s match-day squad for the North-London derby.
And Rose’s statement in the press seems to have riled up a handful of Spurs fans who are becoming increasingly frustrated with the England left-back’s involvement in the British media.
Here’s what the fans have had to say about Rose’s performance and his comments concerning his omission from the weekend squad.
Rose making a difference on are left … break the bank and keep him Levy

Second half he was brilliant, first half incredibly ropey, forgot how to pass the ball and tried to be too flash (chest pass)

Danny Rose is an exceptional left back but I just can't look at him in the same way anymore. I've lost feelings for him. #thfc

Don't want to lose Danny Rose he was one of my fave players before his injury. The only way I would accept it would be to sign Ryan Sessegnon, the boy is 17 and so talented. #COYS

Depends how you look at it. Would you rather have a Danny rose who evidently is only interested in Danny rose or a Ben Davies who in my opinion is just as good who never causes any issues, gets on with it and ultimately put the team first?

Danny Rose looks absolutely odds on now.

Even watching Danny rose at 60% fit is showing what weve missed for 9 months. As well as Davies has played, Rose is on another level.

Really? I thought his final ball into the area was awful, especially when compared to Trippier, Davies is a much better crosser of the ball imo!

Selling Danny Rose to United would be a colossal error and I don't see how any Spurs fan can actually view that as a good idea
