Liverpool fans are rolling their eyes here in the Football Transfer Tavern as the Daily Express seem to think Brendan Rodgers has been issuing a war cry.
Now according to our landlord, sadly for the Reds, that cry has come a couple of days too late after the club fell foul of Basel and were knocked out of Europe.
Rodgers claimed: ‘There is disappointment but now we have to fight for the rest of the season and make it a success.
‘We are going to fight as hard as we can to make sure it is not another five years (before Liverpool return to the Champions League).’
He also made reference to the season as a whole and seems to think that things are rather exciting at the club – something a fair few Liverpool fans in the tavern simply have to disagree with.
The former Swansea manager noted: ‘It is a very exciting period for us. The focus is only really on our next game.
‘We will go into that and look to perform better and hopefully get a result.’
