Brighton and Hove Albion refuse to give up chase for 25-year-old midfielder

Brighton and Hove Albion are refusing to give up the chase for Werder Bremen star Thomas Delaney despite being rebuffed by the German club in their efforts to secure the midfielder.

According to The Sun, the Seagulls will not be deterred in the chase for one of their top summer transfer targets and are prepared to go in higher than the £11 million which was rejected last week.

Brighton were promoted to the Premier League last season and their supporters here in the Football Transfer Tavern are hopeful that several new additions will arrive at the club this summer.

Brighton boss Chris Hughton tried to sign the central midfielder in January when he was still a Copenhagen player, although the 25-year-old chose to sign for Bremen instead.

The Seagulls are among the favourites to be relegated from the Premier League during 2017/18 but if the club can pull off the signing of someone like Delaney then their chances of survival will certainly be enhanced.

One Brighton fan is chilling with the landlord over a bottle of his famous house red wine and he believes the club needs to sign some players and quickly, especially with their rivals already securing their main targets.

Brighton fans, would you welcome Delaney to the club? Who else should be signed? Let us know in the comments below!!!
