Brighton fans take to Twitter to call for Hughton’s head

Brighton fans were left thoroughly embarrassed yesterday. The Amex Stadium was a grim place to be as a home fan, as the ten men of the Seagulls lost 5-0 to Bournemouth, who brought up just their second away win in 11 attempts. It was a damaging day for the home support, and in the aftermath, the fans have called for Chris Hughton to be sacked.

Premier League managerial sackings are a fairly common occurrence given how fickle supporters at the top level of English football are. However, this time around you can understand the Amex Stadium faithful’s calls for Chris Hughton to be sacked, the Irishman has taken them as far as they believe he can and after such a heavy defeat, and with the fear of relegation real, they want him gone.
After spells with Newcastle United and Norwich City, the 60-year-old rocked up at the Amex Stadium when they were in the Championship and had dreams of making the Seagulls a Premier League side for the first time in their history. However, they could be set to join Huddersfield Town in going down in their second Premier League season if they don’t turn things around quickly, and Hughton’s sacking might be a necessity if they want to survive.

That's got to be it for Hughton, I respect what he's done for the club but just because he brought us here doesn't mean he can take us back down to the championship…

Not saying this lightly, but maybe it's time for Hughton to go. This is beyond embarrassing as is our form in 2019 (bar the cup run which papered over the cracks.) #bhafc
