The Newcastle fans in the Transfer Tavern have been reacting to the news that Islam Slimani will miss Newcastle’s next three games, ending his loan career in the North East. The club released a statement on the striker on the Newcastle United website, although the fans all know that the Algerian’s time at the club is over without him scoring a single goal in black and white.
Islam Slimani will miss Newcastle United’s next three matches after he was charged with violent conduct.
He accepted the charge but argued the suspension was excessive. This was rejected by an Independent Regulatory Commission.

Slimani joined Newcastle on loan from Leicester City, swapping the King Power Stadium for St James Park as he was deemed surplus to requirements after being unable to usurp Jamie Vardy and Shinji Okazaki in the Foxes frontline. With Rafa Benitez looking for a replacement striker for Aleksandar Mitrovic, who left on-loan for Fulham in the same window, Slimani was the perfect fit. However, injury saw the 29-year-old miss Newcastle’s first six games since signing him as he only managed four games for the Geordies before receiving his ban.
In Slimani’s four games for Newcastle, he only managed to complete 130 minutes of action without scoring a goal, although he did register an assist and pick up a booking in that time. With Newcastle having just three games left in their Premier League season and Slimani picking up a three-game ban, the Geordies have done the maths and are ready to see the back of the target-man who delivered so little in his time in the Northeast. The fans will be hoping the next striker who Benitez brings to the club can have more of an impact than Slimani, who will ultimately go down as a flop.

Frivolous to suggest it was excessive.
No different to any other case of lashing out.

Cheers for the header against Arsenal that wasn't quite an assist.

Yet salah hit out against stoke and got no ban at all, once a hand is raised its violent conduct

I’ve no argument with the ban, my question is why hasn’t Dawson’s stamp even been mentioned let alone considered for retrospective action, @FA will have reviewed the footage to charge Slimani so that HAVE to have seen his action that caused the reactionary kick??
