‘Bring back Mason Mount’ – Chelsea fans on Twitter fume at the club’s loan post

The Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern have been reacting to their club’s latest edition of Chelsea Here Chelsea There, where the club look at how all of their on-loan players throughout Europe have been getting on over the weekend. The club has developed a reputation for stockpiling players, loaning them out to clubs all over and then failing to promote them to the first team upon their return to Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea have got players loaned out to countries all over Europe and some even closer to home in the Premier League. Kurt Zouma, Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Kenedy and Tammy Abraham all played their last games for Stoke, Crystal Palace, Newcastle and Swansea yesterday before they move back to Chelsea for the start of The Blues pre-season. Meanwhile, Mason Mount was the most impressive performer of Chelsea’s loanees as he bagged himself a hat-trick in Vitesse Arnhem’s 5-2 win over ADO Den Hag in their Europa League play-off semi-final.

The Chelsea fans will be looking forward to seeing if any of their young stars who spent this season out on loan can crack their first team next season. The Blues have struggled this season and despite making it to the FA Cup final, the 5th placed Premier League finish means they won’t be playing in the Champions League next season. However, with the club occupying a place in the Europa League, it could provide an opportunity for some of the club’s youngsters a chance to express themselves.
