The resident Gunners in the Transfer Tavern are hoping to go level on points with Tottenham Hotspur with a victory over Crystal Palace this evening.
Arsene Wenger takes his side across London to face Roy Hodgson’s resurgent Palace side tonight for Arsenal’s penultimate match of 2017. Arsenal have enjoyed mixed success in 2017, as they lifted the FA Cup for the 13th time in May, but they also failed to qualify for the Champions League for the first time in Wenger’s career as manager of the club.
The year of 2018 could prove to be a huge year of change at the club in terms of personnel, and the Gunners propping up the bar in the tavern are growing concerned that they could fall further behind their top-four rivals in the Premier League if they do not make plenty of wise acquisitions in the transfer market.
With the future’s of contract rebels Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez still hanging in the balance, it is no surprise that the Arsenal supporters are becoming sceptical and concerned about the future of their club.
The supporters have already begun preparing for the probable eventuality that both of the aforementioned players will leave the club in the near future, by identifying Atletico Madrid’s Yannick Carrasco as a player who could potentially fill the void left by the wantaway pairing.
Although there are some minor doubts about his attitude and fitness, plenty of Arsenal supporters on Twitter are demanding that Wenger makes every effort to lure Carrasco to The Emirates in January.
Here’s how the Arsenal supporters reacted to their club’s links with Carrasco…
