The Arsenal fans in the Transfer Tavern were revelling in their side’s victory in the North London derby this weekend.
Arsene Wenger’s side produced their most complete display of the season to record a 2-0 victory over bitter rivals Tottenham Hotspur at the Emirates Stadium. Shkodran Mustafi sent the Gunners into a controversial lead after 36 minutes after Mike Dean had awarded Arsenal a dubious free-kick deep into Tottenham territory. Just five minutes later, Arsenal were celebrating wildly once again. Hector Bellerin played Alexandre Lacazette in behind Tottenham’s right-hand channel with a fine pass, and when the Frenchman found Alexis Sanchez inside the box, he made no mistake in slamming the ball into the roof of Hugo Lloris’s net.
Arsenal failed to add to their two-goal advantage in the second half, but their uncharacteristically solid defensive display and willingness to give everything for the cause ensured them of the three points.
The club’s official Twitter page have unsurprisingly been keen to share as many thoughts and opinions in relation to the game as possible, including those of Welsh midfielder Aaron Ramsey.
And we certainly did https://t.co/NbCN9OatQM

And the post received plenty of correspondence from the Arsenal fans who were delighted with the performance of their side this weekend.
However, several Gunners fans were also keen to point out that one-off performances won’t help them return to the Champions League, and they will need to replicate their weekend performance on a consistent basis if they wish to finish in the top-four this season.
Here’s what the fans had to say on Twitter…
Now give our everything in trying to keep Özil
