Bundesliga ace tops Chelsea’s transfer wishlist

lewandowski.jpgChelsea fans are looking up from their pints at the latest claim from the Daily Mail here in the Football Transfer Tavern as they think that Jose Mourinho has a new name at the top of his summer transfer wishlist.

The manager has been chasing Napoli’s Edinson Cavani almost non-stop this summer and has now finally given up on trying to lure the Uruguayan who Chelsea have decided is simply not worth the money that former interim boss Rafael Benitez and the Serie A club are quoting.

Not only is the Special One considering making a move for Manchester United’s Wayne Rooney but now it seems that Borussia Dortmund’s Robert Lewnadowski is now the man the Blues will go after in the transfer market.

Mourinho of course knows the Polish international well given the amount of goals the striker put past his Real Madrid side in the Champions League last season and now seems to be taking the approach of if you can’t beat them, buy them!

Lewandowski was believed to be holding out for a move to Dortmund’s Bundesliga rivals Bayern Munich but given the club’s refusal to sell him to their enemy following Mario Gotze’s controversial transfer, it could well be the case that a move to London and a link up with Mourinho is the most viable option for now.

Are Chelsea about to step up their efforts to land Lewandowski this summer or is he staying at the Westfalenstadion? Rate this rumour below.
