Tottenham Hotspur fans in the Transfer Tavern will be disappointed with the news that one of their academy prospects has decided to leave the club.
Mauricio Pochettino is famed for bringing through a number of young talents at Tottenham which includes the likes of Harry Kane, Harry Winks and Kyle Walker-Peters.
However, he will not have the opportunity to do the same for Keanan Bennetts as he has chosen to join Borussia Monchengladbach according to the Bundesliga outfit’s official website.
The 19-year-old winger has signed a deal to join up with the Foals until 2022 after impressing in Spurs’ development side, with many believing he has a bright future in the game.
The Tottenham fans in the Tavern will be disappointed with the decision that Bennetts has chosen to leave the club as many feel that Pochettino was well placed to help him realise the full extent of his potential.
The 19-year-old has been a standout performer in the reserve team with 9 goals and 8 assists to his name in all-competitions this season.
However, considering the number of attacking options available in the first-team, he would have struggled to break into the starting eleven, so it’s no surprise he has opted for a move to Germany.
The European country seems to be popular with some of England’s brightest talents at the moment, with Jadon Sancho and Ademola Lookman flourishing in their spells at Borussia Dortmund and Red Bull Leipzig respectively.
