Southampton have been a huge disappointment in the current campaign as they continue to struggle under the guidance of Mark Hughes.
The Saints desperately need to enjoy a positive run of form if they are to climb away from relegation contention, with things looking very concerning at this moment in time. And, to make things even worse, it appears as if one of their transfer targets is attracting more interest, as according to Fussball Transfers (via Inside Futbol), four Bundesliga clubs are interested in Shoya Nakajima.
Shoya Nakajima is currently on the books at Portuguese side Portimonense and has caught the eye with his displays in the Primeira Liga.
And, German Bundesliga clubs Borussia Dortmund, Stuttgart, Wolfsburg and Eintracht Frankfurt have all been scouting the 24-year-old, who is a target for Southampton.
However, if Southampton do slap in a bid of €17 million (£14.85 million), it is rated as unlikely the Bundesliga clubs would be willing to enter the battle for Nakajima’s signature.
Southampton are in desperate need of a striker than can ensure a consistent flow of goals, which is exactly why they’re taking a look at the highly-rated Japanese international.
However, with a number of quality Bundesliga sides all keeping tabs on the forward, it may be difficult for the Saints to bring him to St Mary’s unless they decide to splash the cash.
